Saba Mubarak dedicates her honor at Midfest to the Palestinian people

Midfest Egypt Short Film Festival honored artist Saba Mubarak for her artistic career during the opening ceremony of the sixth session of the festival for the year 2024, which kicked off on Thursday and will continue until September 15.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mina El-Naggar, Director and Founder of the Festival, Dr. Khaled Ali, International Coordinator of the Forum, and Catherine Banoub, Executive Director of the Forum.

Saba Mubarak: We wait months and years to see the results of our work Saba Mubarak expressed her gratitude for this honor, saying: “An honor of this kind comes at a moment when you may not be sure of your path - acting is a very difficult field, and sometimes we wait months and years to see the results of our work. An honor like this makes you feel that you are at least doing something right. I thank everyone who trusts me and gives me roles, and I would like to thank my family as well.”

Saba added that she wants to present better roles than those she has presented before, stressing that failure is part of the journey and pushes a person to learn and seek success.

On the other hand, the star Hana Shiha surprised her friend Saba Mubarak by going up on stage to present her with the award, saying: "Acting is a game, and the most important thing is to believe in what you do and love your work. When you love, everyone will believe you, and you, Saba, have achieved this equation simply." In turn, Saba Mubarak dedicated the award to the struggle of the Palestinian people.

Details about Midfest Festival The first short film festival in the Middle East and North Africa, Midfest, was launched with the aim of raising awareness of important health issues and revealing the intersection between cinema and health, in addition to shedding light on sensitive social issues to enhance their acceptance by society.

The sixth edition of the festival addressed the issue of “relationships” by highlighting human relationships in all their forms, and using cinema as a means to express them in depth and analyze them on screen. The festival also focused on relationships between family members, as one of the greatest indicators of happiness and health throughout life. The festival continues in its current session from September 12 to 15, 2024.
