Reports indicate that a sharp argument took place between her and Barghash in the lobby before the dispute moved to the service room, where she was suddenly attacked and subjected to strong blows that resulted in internal bleeding in her head, which led to her death. After his identity was revealed, the perpetrator fled.

Lebanese investigations showed that the Syrian Khalaf Bargash, who has disappeared since last Saturday, is the main suspect in the case of the murder of the young Lebanese woman, Zainab Maatouq. Bargash was working as a cleaner at the Universel Residence Hotel in the Raouche area of Beirut, where Maatouq was working.

For his part, the Public Security Forces raided an apartment inhabited by the perpetrator in the Al-Awza’i suburb, and members of the victim’s family confirmed that they discovered that Barghash was violating the privacy of the guests by using his phone to spy, as he was installing secret cameras to photograph the hotel guests, which led them to believe that he had killed her in revenge.
