A message of support from Asala to the Saudi people after the “Goat’s Life” controversy

Syrian artist Assala Nasri sent a message of support to the Saudi people via her official Instagram account, after the movie "Goat's Life" sparked controversy on social media, as some considered it offensive to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Asala: He provoked me and there are no reasons for such an accusation against Saudi society.

Assala wrote on her official Instagram account: “Since my beginnings, I have been living among the Saudis in Saudi Arabia, and I was fortunate to travel with them to many countries and lived with them on every trip for long days. I have never seen generosity like theirs, nor mercy like the one in their hearts.”

She continued, “All of those I know have many people of many nationalities working with them, and they are all lucky to have the opportunity that life has given them. Most of these people have built homes in their countries and provided for dozens of people, and they themselves live in the best conditions with the kindest people.”

Assala added, “Unfortunately, I watched the movie that said this happened in Saudi Arabia and it provoked me, and I found that there are no reasons for such an accusation against Saudi society, a society of principles, morals, giving, modesty, simplicity, and love for people and life. That Saudi Arabia would be targeted is something expected and justified because it was and still is the influential and nurturing one. May God honor it and perpetuate its glory and protect its family, my family and the families of millions like me who loved it and for whom it was a mother, father, security, and homeland.”

Asala chosen as Spotify’s EQUAL Arabia Ambassador

Artist Assala was chosen to be the ambassador of Spotify’s EQUAL Arabia program with the release of her latest album “Then I”.

According to the statement, “The album, which includes ten songs including the popular single “Insan”, continues to highlight Asala’s talent for blending diverse and different Arabic musical styles that are popular with a wide audience from all over the world.

Spotify has been providing extensive support to artist Assala since the beginning of the month, by featuring her on the cover of the EQUAL Arabia playlist and adding her songs to the EQUAL global playlist.

The campaign culminated in the display of the artist Asala ’s image on a Spotify billboard in Times Square in New York City.
