The media office of Lebanese artist Ragheb Alama issued a statement after the angry reaction to a statement attributed to "Ragheb" in which he spoke badly about the late Secretary-General of "Hezbollah" Hassan Nasrallah, despite the Lebanese artist's previous denial.

The statement began as follows: “As part of the ongoing campaign of malicious rumors targeting superstar Ragheb Alama, a video has recently spread on social media containing a fake call between artist Abdullah Balkhair and a person who impersonated artist Ragheb Alama, using sophisticated techniques to imitate his voice, and making statements that have no connection to artist Ragheb Alama.”

The statement added: "In this context, the office of artist Ragheb Alama confirms that these alleged statements are completely inconsistent with the artist's principles and values. They are statements that are completely alien to his personality and to what his audience and those close to him are accustomed to, whether in secret or in public."

He continued: "The artist Abdullah Al-Khair, thankfully, immediately denied the authenticity of this call, explaining that he was the victim of a clear deception and a deliberate attempt to deliberately insult the person of the artist Ragheb Alama and his prestigious position."

The statement continued: "Accordingly, the office of artist Ragheb Alama calls on everyone involved in such offensive and illegal acts to immediately stop these criminal practices that only aim to spread lies and harm the artist's reputation," stressing that "it will not hesitate to pursue the perpetrators of these acts legally."

The statement added: "This fake video is nothing more than a new addition to the series of malicious rumors that aim to undermine the bright image of the artist Ragheb Alama, who has been a symbol of high-class art and honorable Lebanese national stances for decades."

Alama called on his audience to "beware of such slander, and affirms his constant commitment to conveying a true image of the human and national values for which he has always been known."
