Syrian artist Hanan Al-Lulu passed away a short while ago at the age of 58 after a long struggle with illness.

Hanan Al-Lulu had announced months ago that she had been diagnosed with cancer again, as well as the poor financial situation she was going through, especially since she was raising her grandchildren, whose father had died at a young age due to the disease as well.

Syrian actress Suzan Najm Al-Din made a heartfelt plea on her official Instagram account, calling on the public and charitable people to help her colleague, actress Hanan Al-Lulu, who is going through difficult health and living conditions after her cancer returned and she stopped treatment due to financial hardship.

An appeal from Susan Najm Al-Din

Susan wrote, “I appeal to your humanity, and there are many good people among you, to stand by the artist Hanan Al-Lulu and help her with a donation by contacting her directly in Syria.”

Najm Al-Din explained that Hanan was once a star, and now she is a grieving mother who lost her son, and a grandmother who cares for her grandchildren. She also chose to stop her treatment to provide for them and protect them from the cold and harshness of life.

In moving words, Najmuddin expressed her colleague's suffering: "How harsh time has been on you, and you have tasted its bitterness with rare patience... Despite all this, you still cling to life and dream of returning to your audience and fans... You still demand your right to work, life, and medicine, from production companies and everyone else."

She concluded her message by saying: “Dream and ask. Perhaps God will hear your cries for compassionate hearts. Let us all help her, each in the best way we can, so that she may return to art and life once again.”

For her part, actress Hanan Al-Lulu spoke in new statements about the return of the malignant disease to her body after years of recovery, noting that she is unable to afford the costs of chemotherapy in light of the lack of job opportunities and her declining income.

She extended special thanks to Suzan Najm Al-Din, who was the first to stand by her during this ordeal, along with artists Shukran Murtaja, Amal Arafa, and Rakan Tahseen Beyk, who contacted her and checked on her condition.
