The statement issued by the media office of artist Fadel Shaker read: Regarding the fabricated charges, I would like to clarify that before I entered the Ain al-Hilweh camp, no warrant or ruling was issued against me. When I entered the camp, fleeing the death threat, documents and rulings were poured in on me without any legal justification. I am innocent and the judiciary has confirmed, in absentia, the ruling of my innocence of fighting with the army, and the ruling is widely circulated in the media.

Fadel Shaker continued: “I ask those concerned to treat my case as if it were that of an ordinary citizen, because once my case is dealt with without any political dimension, 99% of the problem will be resolved. I am innocent. I have been wronged for more than 13 years, and the charges against me were fabricated in an attempt to put pressure on me, thinking they can destroy me and my art.”

He explained: “I add to the public opinion, for the first time, a verse of poetry, and I reveal to it that I was subjected to financial blackmail by some officials in some official agencies. Some of them demanded two million dollars, some of them demanded five million, and some of them demanded my real estate and property in exchange for me obtaining an acquittal that I already had.”

The Lebanese singer announced that his family's and children's assets, which are documented as theirs, have been seized and are not permitted to be released by the remnants of the defunct Bashar al-Assad regime, whose influence continues to be illegally present in some institutions.

Fadel Shaker continued: "I have returned to art, and international evaluations have confirmed that I have returned as a significant figure in the art scene. Here I say to my dear fans: Wait for the upcoming releases, which will be even more beautiful and wonderful."
