After meeting Habib, Iman El Sayed responds to the audience

After writer Amr Mahmoud Yassin spoke about some of the roles in the series "We Meet a Lover" and how it led to some scenes being cut to fit the dramatic atmosphere of the work, actress Iman El Sayed commented on her experience in the work and the reactions she received regarding her role being reduced.

Iman Al-Sayed responds

The Egyptian actress wrote a post on Instagram, in which she responded to the criticism she faced because of her role in the series, saying: “I understand and am fully aware that if you, as a viewer, don’t like my role in the work, and that is your full right, and I personally know and am aware when I play a role that I don’t like, and I accept criticism as long as you express your opinion objectively and respectfully, and I know very well that any good thing I did before can be forgotten in a second in the midst of an attack because of a role that you did not like, (and this is something I learned over time, that I expect anything.”

She added: “Personally, I have learned in my life not to blame others for my mistakes, because if I did that, I would not advance a step in my life, and I am old enough to always bear the consequences of my choices...and whenever someone offered me a small role, I would always say I could do that with Yasmine only, because people know our history together, and I have never read a comment before that said that someone was forcing me to work except this time, and I have not read hurtful words like this time, to the point that whenever a colleague of mine at work expresses her opinion on something on social media, I find myself attacked in the comments, even if her post has nothing to do with the work itself...”

She explained in her post: “Before I started filming, I spoke to Professor Amr Mahmoud Yassin, the writer of the work, whom I respect very much. I was apologizing for the role, and I admitted that I did it at a bad time, and it wasn’t appropriate. He personally told me that it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to do this with Yasmine, and I told him that I could give her one scene in a series, but I would have to feel the scene. In the end, I worked on it, because my timing, as I said, was wrong.”

Iman concluded her speech by saying: "I am happy with the success of the work, and I am pleased with Yasmine Abdel Aziz and happy for her, because she deserves all the best, and in the end I learned a lesson."
