Hajjo explained that he and Adwan began in 2003 preparing to turn the play into a television script, but the project faltered after the writer’s death in 2004.

Al-Laith said that " The Hero " is a project that Adwan started, and he wove it with a professionalism that may have reached the point of reading the future of our peoples and predicting what awaits them. Today, we are trying to retell the story with all honesty and sincerity to Adwan's vision, in another attempt to create a drama closer to reality.
