The Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival, in its fourth session, was launched in Algeria, and was attended by artists from various countries around the world, both Arab and international.

While the presence of the star of the series La Casa de Babel, the Spanish artist Itziar Ituno, was striking and eye-catching, due to her unconventional appearance, as she wore the traditional Algerian dress, the “karako,” and she also raised the Palestinian keffiyeh while honoring her on stage as an expression of her support for the cause and her rejection of the aggression she faces. The star of La Casa de Babel talks about her honor at the Annaba Festival In a speech delivered by the Spanish star, during a press conference, she stressed that the festival is “an opportunity to discuss and defend just and humanitarian issues,” continuing her speech that actors around the world “enjoy an image, fame, and voice that must be exploited in defending just causes and liberation battles,” noting, “The actor has two options.” Either react to what is going on around you or remain passive.”

Itziar Ituno continued her speech, "I chose not to be silent and express what is on my mind in order to defend just and humanitarian causes."

In a statement to the press, the actress expressed her “fascination” with the city and the audience of Annaba and said that she is “open to any proposal for cooperation in the cinematic field.”

The festival was also attended by Samer Al-Masry, who also received a great welcome from the audience, and posted snapshots of his presence on his official Instagram page.

About the Annaba Festival It is noteworthy that the fourth session of the Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival will take place between April 24 and 30, and was launched last Wednesday, with a remarkable presence of international filmmakers, Algerian artists, and young creators.

70 films, combining feature films, short films and documentaries, will participate in the Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival, including 46 films in the festival's official competition.

The festival includes in its activities actors, directors, producers and creators in the field of comedy, drama and music, including the international Algerian musician Safi Boutella and the comedian Samaeen from France, in addition to a group of young creators and filmmakers from Palestine, including director Majd Al-Eid.

For her part, Minister of Culture and Arts Soria Moulouji stressed that this festival represents a "prestigious landmark in the cultural scene of the Mediterranean basin."
