Bella Hadid is heading to sue Adidas after Israeli anger

The famous American model, of Palestinian origin, Bella Hadid, is preparing to wage a legal battle with the German company Adidas, due to the advertising campaign related to Munich at the 1972 Olympic Games, for which Adidas apologized to Israel.

Bella Hadid will sue Adidas Media websites reported that "Hadid appointed a legal advisor to confront Adidas, which dropped it from an advertising campaign for shoes of a style inspired by the sports shoes used in the 1972 Munich Olympics."

Meanwhile, informed sources explained that Hadid hired lawyers to take legal action against Adidas due to its lack of public accountability, saying that she “feels that they led a harsh and destructive campaign.”

The same sources confirmed that model Hadid is upset by Adidas launching a campaign that would link anyone to a tragedy, such as the Munich massacre at the 1972 Olympic Games.

It was also reported that model Hadid is still under contract with Adidas, despite previous reports that the company dropped her due to the Israeli attack on the company, against the backdrop of the Israeli war on Gaza.

Adidas had chosen Hadid to promote its sports shoe (SL72), which was launched for the first time to coincide with the 1972 Olympic Games.

Adidas apologizes to Israel Adidas recently relaunched the SL72 shoe as part of a series to revive classic sports shoes. But pictures of Hadid wearing the shoes sparked criticism, including on the official account of the Israeli entity on the “X” platform.

The post on the platform said: “Guess who directed their campaign? Bella Hadid...a half-Palestinian model.”

The Israeli authorities criticized the company's choice of model Hadid, accusing her of hostility to "Israel", pointing to "the killing of 11 Israeli athletes at the hands of Palestinian attackers at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games," according to the occupation's claim.

Adidas later issued an official apology to Israel after that, and said that it would “review its campaign.”

The company said in a statement: “We are aware that some people may find a connection to tragic historical events, even though it was completely unintended, and we apologize for any inconvenience or distress caused.”
