“Caftan Fashion Show” in Doha: Celebrating Moroccan Heritage

Princess Lalla Hasnaa and Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani chaired the “Caftan Fashion Show” held last Wednesday at “Dar Al Maghrib” in Doha, as part of the activities of the Cultural Year (Qatar-Morocco 2024).

Moroccan heritage in the heart of Doha This exceptional show highlighted the beauty of the Moroccan caftan and celebrated the excellence of authentic Moroccan fashion.

Twenty designers from all over Morocco participated in the event, presenting collections of caftan that combined authenticity and modernity, confirming the ability of Moroccan fashion to be characterized by luxurious beauty and modernity.

A blend of authenticity and modernity in caftan design The show featured works by prominent Moroccan designers such as Amina Benmoussa, Yasmina Benyahia, and Frédéric Berkemeier, alongside a group of prominent names such as Meriem Bouafi, Najla Diouri, and Fawzia Naciri. The designs were inspired by love poetry and Arabic calligraphy, which added a poetic touch to the fashion.

This show celebrated the uniqueness of Moroccan traditional craftsmanship, where colors and materials were combined with innovative styles that gave the caftan a modern character in every detail.

High-level attendance and high-end artistic atmosphere The event was attended by many prominent figures in the fields of culture and economy, as well as a number of foreign ambassadors, which gave the event an international character.

After the show, the designers posed for a souvenir photo with Princess Lalla Hasnaa and Sheikha Al Mayassa, while the audience enjoyed live Moroccan music reflecting the richness of Morocco’s musical heritage.

In the evening, Princess Lalla Hasnaa and Sheikha Al Mayassa hosted a dinner at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha in honor of the guests participating in the “Caftan Fashion Show” event.
