Death: Anwar Al-Sabah passes away at the age of 91

The Lebanese Minister and former MP Anwar Ali Al-Sabah, the father of producer Sadiq Al-Sabah, has disappeared from our world today at the age of 91. He is scheduled to be buried in the family cemetery in the city of Nabatieh, Al-Boom, at eleven in the morning.

Who is Anwar Al-Sabah? Anwar Al-Sabah was born on September 10, 1933, in Nabatieh, and obtained a high school diploma from the American Arts School in Sidon in 1955.

Al-Sabah earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Oklahoma, then worked in engineering for several years, until he was appointed as an engineer in the Reconstruction Authority in 1956 after the Lebanon earthquake. He rose in success until he was entrusted with the leadership of the pipeline maintenance department between Saudi Arabia and Lebanon with Tapline Company until 1961. .

Anwar Al-Sabah in the political arena Regarding his entry into the political arena, he entered it in 1964 and won the parliamentary elections, then he was appointed President of the Southern Council in 1970, then he won the parliamentary elections again in 1972, and then he was appointed Minister of Economy in the same year.

Positions and successes continued, as he took over the Ministry of Water and Electrical Resources, Industry and Oil in 1979, and a year later he took over the Ministry of Water and Electrical Resources.

In protest against not sending the army to the south in 1981, he submitted his resignation from the government. He also participated in international delegations, the most important of which contributed to the adoption of Security Council Resolution No. 425.

He married Asmaa Naguib Nassar and has five children: producer Sadiq Al-Sabah, Mirna, Rima, Sherine and Ali.

He participated in establishing the Sabah Brothers Film and Television Production Company, which has strong artistic contributions in the Arab arena.
