Egyptian artist Basem Samra announced the death of his mother on the first day of Ramadan, through a touching post on his social media accounts, where he asked his followers to pray for her mercy and forgiveness.

Samra wrote: “My mother passed away to the mercy of God. I ask you, by the right of the holy month, to pray for her mercy and forgiveness. O God, forgive her with a forgiveness as great as Your inexhaustible giving, and cover her with Your vast mercy that encompasses everything You created. O God, save her from the torment of the grave and the torment of Hell, and gather her with the righteous and pious.”
