<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">About two months after the fall of the regime in Syria, the leader of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa, chaired an expanded meeting of military and revolutionary factions.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Syrian Revolution Victory Statement </p><figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1280/720;" src="https://cdn.sbisiali.com/news/images/1594cabd-c403-4a66-8e91-2ca3ffb328d7.jpg" ></figure><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> It was decided at the meeting that Sharaa would assume the presidency of Syria during the transitional period, and that the 2012 constitution would be abolished, in addition to dissolving the Arab Socialist Baath Party, the People's Assembly, the army, and the security services affiliated with the regime of former President Bashar al-Assad.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The spokesman for the Military Operations Department, Colonel Hassan Abdul Ghani, delivered a statement called “Statement Announcing the Victory of the Syrian Revolution,” in which he said, “We congratulate our great Syrian people on the victory of their blessed revolution.”</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> He added that it was decided, following the meeting of the military and revolutionary factions, to "authorize the President of the Republic to form an interim legislative council for the transitional period until a permanent constitution is approved."</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> He stressed that it was decided to "dissolve the People's Assembly formed during the time of the defunct regime and the committees emanating from it."</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> He also announced the "dissolution of the army of the defunct regime and the rebuilding of the army on national foundations... and the dissolution of all militias and security agencies affiliated with the defunct regime with all their branches. We broke the shackles, thanks to God, and the tortured were freed. We removed the dust of humiliation and disgrace from the shoulders of the Levant, and thus the great victory was achieved.
