El Gouna Film Festival honors Mahmoud Hemeida with Creative Achievement Award

El Gouna Film Festival is pleased to announce that it will honor artist Mahmoud Hemeida and award him the Creative Achievement Award in its 7th edition, scheduled to be held from October 24 to November 1.

Director of El Gouna Film Festival, Marianne Khoury, stated that honoring Hemeida comes in recognition of his rich artistic career and achievements that have enriched Egyptian art, noting that he is a model for artists who seek to achieve their dreams in this field.

Mahmoud Hemeida's successful artistic career Hamida has starred in many cinematic works under the supervision of prominent directors, such as “Knight of the City”, “Strawberry War”, and “Asphalt Demons”.

He gained wide fame for his supporting roles in films such as "The Emperor" and "Shams El Zanati".

Hamida is a pioneer in moving between roles, adding his own touch to each character. Historically, Hamida began his career with famous TV series, then moved to cinema with the movie “Al Awbash” in 1986.

He was distinguished by the diversity of his roles and his ability to embody multiple characters, which earned him the appreciation of critics and the public alike.

In 1996, Hamida founded the Penguin Production Company, which has succeeded in producing several films that have won local and international awards, such as “Jannat Al Shayateen” and “Malik and Ketaba.”
