Football legends celebrate Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 World Cup

Many Saudi football legends expressed their great joy and happiness after the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced that the Kingdom had won the right to host the 2034 World Cup. This historic event was a victory for the Kingdom and its sport in particular, as it was noted that the Kingdom would be the first country to host the tournament with the participation of 48 teams individually.

Announcement details and major celebrations On Wednesday, during the FIFA Congress, the official decision was announced to grant Saudi Arabia the honor of hosting the 2034 World Cup. This announcement was preceded by the Saudi file receiving the highest rating among the files of the advanced countries, as it received 419.8 out of 500 points, reflecting the extent of the preparations and meticulous planning.

It was also confirmed that the next edition of the 2030 World Cup will be held jointly between Morocco, Spain and Portugal, while Saudi Arabia, which submitted a distinguished file, will rely on 15 stadiums distributed across five cities to host the matches ten years from now. This event represents a qualitative shift in the history of Saudi sports, in which the Kingdom will be the first to host the 2026 World Cup with the participation of 48 teams individually.

Huge celebrations across the Kingdom Following the announcement of Saudi Arabia's winning bid to host the World Cup , many celebrations were launched in various Saudi regions. The sky was decorated with dazzling displays of aircraft that formed the map of the Kingdom, in addition to a picture of the World Cup and the football, in a celebratory scene that reflects the magnitude of the event. The phrase "Riyadh is ready" also appeared written in the sky, indicating the Kingdom's readiness for this major global event.

The celebrations in Riyadh were distinguished, especially around the main metro station that opened early this month, where a fireworks display was launched that lit up the sky of the capital amidst the applause of the audience who expressed their great joy.

Celebrations at SSC studio with Saudi sports stars In the SSC studio, many Saudi sports stars, experts and sports analysts were gathered to analyze the Kingdom’s bid and the organization of the 2034 World Cup. Immediately after the Saudi bid was announced as the winner, the stars participated in the celebrations that continued live. Among the most prominent attendees were Al Hilal legend Sami Al Jaber and former Al Shabab star Saeed Al Owairan, as they interacted with the national event with the famous Saudi “Ardah” dance, which is considered part of the Kingdom’s cultural heritage.
