French President arrives in Morocco after years of absence

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Mrs. Brigitte Macron, arrived in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, on a state visit to the Kingdom of Morocco at the invitation of King Mohammed VI, after their last visit in 2018.

The visit will also be attended by the heads of groups such as Engie, Alstom, Safran, TotalEnergies and Suez, as well as representatives of companies such as Airbus, Veolia and Thales.

The visit of the French President Macron to Morocco inaugurates a new phase in relations between the two countries. The visit will include a group of activities that the French delegation will carry out as follows:

Macron's visit program and activities On Tuesday, the French President will receive at his residence the Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami, and the Speaker of the House of Advisors Mohamed Ould Rachid.

After that, Emmanuel Macron and his wife will visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V in the presence of the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, Mohamed El Yaakoubi, before heading to Parliament to deliver a speech before its two chambers in a joint session.

The French President and his wife will then have lunch with a delegation of Moroccan and French intellectuals.

The French President's activities on Tuesday afternoon will include the conclusion of meetings of Moroccan and French entrepreneurs, where Macron is expected to discuss strategic sectors for the future, at the International University of Rabat.

In the same place, what the Elysée communication team calls a “game series” will take place, with the presence of French and Moroccan professionals, both in terms of the creative industry and players.

In the evening, King Mohammed VI will host an official dinner in honor of the French President and his wife, Brigitte Macron.

On the last day of the visit, Wednesday, a meeting will be held to discuss food security and sustainable agriculture in Africa with Moroccan and African students, at the OCP Foundation.

The French President will conclude his official visit to the Kingdom by giving a speech to the French community in Morocco at the French residence.
