From the stage in Bahrain, artist Mayada El Hennawy commented for the first time on the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria, saying: “As a Syrian, we went through a very difficult, dark and oppressive era, to be honest. Like all people, we did not know anything at all.”
