Sotheby's auction house announced the offering of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser's watch in the watch auction, which starts today. The Rolex 'President' watch in yellow gold, a Day-Date 1803 watch from 1963, was owned by the late Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, the leader whose vision and legacy deeply shaped Egypt in the twentieth century and the Arab world. The late Egyptian president owned and wore it around 1963. The estimated price of the watch ranges between 30,000 and 60,000 US dollars.

Sotheby's Important Watches auction will feature this exceptional watch of unparalleled historical significance, which was given to Nasser by his old friend and future successor Anwar Sadat.

The story of Gamal Abdel Nasser's watch Introduced in 1956, the Rolex Day-Date – called the Rolex President – was the first watch to display the day and date in full on the dial, and quickly became a symbol of power and prestige among world leaders.

Nasser wore this precious gift, inscribed in Arabic with "Mr. Anwar Sadat 26-9-1963," during crucial moments of his presidency, from the Six-Day War to diplomatic efforts to unify the Arab world.

After his death in 1970, the watch remained a cherished family heirloom, passed down through the generations.
