George Wassouf in his first comment after the fall of the regime... and the audience "We love you"

A week after the fall of the regime in Syria, the Sultan of Tarab George Wassouf commented on the events through a post on his social media accounts.

George Wassouf's first comment Abu Wadih wrote a post in which he said: “I wish my country Syria a bright and inclusive future filled with love, stability and prosperity, a future worthy of its dear people.”

Surprisingly, Wassouf was known for his support of the regime in Syria and for singing for the leadership more than once, but he was not subjected to any negative comments from the public in his post, unlike what happened with other artists.

Some wrote, “We love you, Abu Wadih,” and another comment said, “You can be with whoever you want, we love you.” One of the commentators also talked about a story that happened to them while they were traveling on the Homs road during the Syrian war, and at that time, Abu Wadih was able to cross the barriers of the regime and the opposition because of everyone’s love for him. The commentator also said that Abu Wadih is visited by all parties from Syria and Lebanon, regardless of their different orientations.

This is the first person (who is considered to be in power) that everyone celebrates and no one curses (see the comments). This man will remain a mystery that baffles me for the rest of my life.”
