Global award for purposeful content creators worth $1 million

The Billion Followers Summit launched the largest and most valuable global award for purposeful content creators, worth one million dollars, with the aim of encouraging content creators who leave a positive impact, change societies for the better, create generations that build a greater future, influence the making of minds, bring peoples closer to each other, and establish the values of compassion and empathy among people.

His Excellency Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, said: “Launching the largest and most valuable global award for purposeful content creators reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, to consolidate the UAE’s position as a platform for creating positive content, and an inspiring global platform for making a positive impact on the present and future of media, shaping minds and formulating humanitarian visions for the good of human civilization, consolidating communication between peoples, spreading the culture of giving and compassion among members of societies, and contributing to achieving their aspirations for sustainable prosperity.”

He added: “The Billion Followers Summit Award represents a qualitative shift in creating content that has a positive impact on society, and achieving the summit’s goals of promoting knowledge and innovation and building a global community of creators and influencers, which embodies our country’s message in supporting every qualitative change that aims to improve people’s lives and meet their aspirations for prosperity and security.”

The “One Billion Followers Summit”, the first summit specialized in content creation and the largest of its kind in the world, announced the start of receiving entries for the award, calling on content creators to apply for it through the summit’s website (www.1billionsummit.com). It also allowed the public to nominate content creators who provide content that benefits communities and spreads positivity and societal values.

Nominations for the largest and most valuable global award for purposeful content creators will continue until November 30, 2024. During this period, contestants will submit details of the project, its history, and the ideas it contains. The winner will be announced during the closing ceremony of the Billion Followers Summit, which will be organized by the New Media Academy in Dubai during the period from January 11 to 13, 2025, under the slogan “Purposeful Content.”

The Billion Followers Summit clarified the conditions for applying for the award, which are that the content provided by the applicant must be purposeful and have a positive impact on society, and have a scientific, cultural, humanitarian and societal impact, and have an impact on shaping minds, bringing peoples closer together, sustainability and establishing the values of compassion and sympathy with people.

The content must also be innovative, original and not copied from other sources, specialised in a specific topic, committed to and in compliance with the standards and policies of social media platforms, committed to the ethics and controls of communities and quality and design standards, achieved interaction and participation among a large segment of followers, and had a positive impact on society.

The selection process for the award will begin on December 1 and will continue until December 15, where a special jury will study the submitted projects to select 10 projects that will be eligible for the award. The public will then be able to vote online to select the best projects starting on December 16, with voting closing on December 31.

After the voting is completed, the jury will count the votes in closed sessions on January 11 and 12, 2025, to select the winner of the Billion Followers Summit Award, which will be announced at the summit’s closing ceremony on January 13, 2025.

The Billion Followers Summit adopted three new tracks for its third edition in late September, including technology, economics, and content, specifically designed to ensure that amateur and professional content creators benefit from the summit’s rich program.
