Honoring Hala Sedky at the Bardia Film Festival, Wahid Hamed Edition

The second edition of the Bardia Film Festival will kick off on Tuesday, September 9, at the Hanager Theater of the Egyptian Opera House, under the patronage of Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Heno and Minister of Social Solidarity Dr. Maya Morsi. This year's edition bears the name of the great writer Wahid Hamed in recognition of his creative career. Honoring the star Hala Sedki and the festival's guests of honor

The festival's management announced that star Hala Sedky will be honored during the opening ceremony, alongside a host of other prominent stars, including actress Elham Shaheen and director Marwan Hamed, as guests of honor. A number of other Egyptian and Arab art icons and creators are expected to be honored throughout the festival.

Terms and Conditions for Participation in the Bardia Film Festival

Azza Abu El-Yazid, the festival's president, revealed the most important conditions for the official competitions, which require:

The film must not exceed 5 minutes in the first competition.

The film must not exceed 15 minutes in the second competition, including the credits.

The film is to be produced in 2024 or later.

It has not been previously displayed on social media platforms.

The festival administration has received approximately 810 Arab and foreign films to compete this year.

The second session will be attended by a number of diplomatic and cultural figures, including the Armenian Ambassador, the Greek Cultural Attaché Yenni Mila, the Czech Cultural Attaché, the Head of the Italian Cultural Center, and the Spanish Cultural Attaché. The first edition of the Bardia Film Festival

It's worth noting that the first edition of the festival was held last year and was named after the renowned director Atef El-Tayeb, and was chaired by writer Abdel Rahim Kamal. Star Sawsan Badr was the guest of honor at the opening ceremony, and star Lebleba was the guest of honor at the closing ceremony. The first edition witnessed the honoring of a large group of filmmakers, such as: photographer Saeed Shimi, media personality Salma El Shamaa, director Omar Abdel Aziz, director Hani Lashin, writer Nasser Abdel Rahman, and others.

The second edition will be managed by art critic Ahmed Saad El-Din as festival director, while the first edition's jury was headed by director Magdy Ahmed Ali and included musician Khaled Hamad, cinematographer Samir Farag, and artists Mohamed Fahim and Firas Naanaa.
