A video of Jordanian director Hussein Daibes crying in a media interview with Rabie Hanidi has been circulating on social media in the past few days. During the interview, he talked about his stay in a nursing home for about a year after suffering a stroke, at the expense of Jordanian artist Omar Abdel Latif.

Video like wildfire The video spread quickly, which aroused the sympathy of the audience, who asked about his friends and family, especially since director Daibes is known for his rich artistic history, as he has put his signature on the most successful and famous clips of Arab artists, including Kazem El Saher, Najwa Karam, Majed El Mohandes, Saber Al Rubai and many others.

Director Daibes said that he did not want help from anyone and that he did not go out to the media interviews because he did not prefer the audience to see him except in the beautiful image that they were accustomed to.

Intervention from the government represented by the Minister of Culture The Jordanian government immediately intervened and the Jordanian Minister of Culture, Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, visited him in the nursing home, which he documented via the X platform, where he wrote: “This morning, I met the creative Jordanian director, Hussein Daibes, in the presence of his son, Fares, and his brother, director Ahmed Daibes. A visit to check on the artist Hussein, who is receiving health care at Darat Samir Shamma. Creative and artistic figures who have influenced the conscience deserve all our attention and care.”

Harsh statement from the Daibes family As for the family of director Hussein Duaibes, it seems that they were not satisfied with what happened, as they issued a statement this morning that read: “There is a big difference between the eagerness of brotherhood and friendship, and asking about the friend’s condition, and between begging, opportunism, and playing on feelings. Hussein Duaibes presented the audience with playing and music as a creative art, and you rewarded him by playing on his circumstances and feelings.

The statement added, “The desire to visit Hussein and check on his health conditions and circumstances should be away from the spotlight and social media, in order to preserve the friend’s privacy, and not to exploit his fame and name in search of a lot of views, without paying attention to the psychological state and nature of the disease that any person can be exposed to and that can affect the patient with major changes in personality or behavior, or answer simple questions in a brief or incorrect manner.”

The family also confirmed in its statement that the permission of Hussein's sons, brothers and relatives to find out the truth was ignored, as the ethics of journalistic work were departed from and the filmed interview showed that director Hussein Duaibes suffers from disobedience to his children, loneliness and humiliation, which is far from the truth, as Duaibes is the one who chose of his own free will to live in "Daraat Shama for Health Care" and the place is a luxurious health place and not a nursing home.

The family thanked the Jordanian government for its interest in finding out the truth about his health condition, appreciating the visit of the Minister of Culture, Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, to him at his place of residence to check on him.
