Basant Shawky said in a video she posted on her official Instagram page: “I don’t respond to rumors at all, but I found the issue getting really big, and until today I received more than 5,000 messages, whether personal or from work congratulating me and such, and I felt that I had to come out and say, I am not pregnant and all that happened is that Mohamed and I posted a story, that there is a surprise, and the problem is that Mohamed had to be with you and I have been saying for a while that I can’t do without you and stuff, so people expected that I am pregnant with a girl, but I swear to God I am not pregnant, and if I am pregnant, I don’t feel that neither Mohamed nor I would say it in this way, and then why am I pregnant tomorrow? I am pregnant today, not us.”

She added: "The surprise was the video clip "I'm Waiting for You" by Hussain Al Jasmi, because Mohamed and I have never done anything like this before, because the video clip, with its idea, direction and everything, because Hesham Gamal did something very different, so we kept saying it's a big surprise."

Basant concluded: “I just want to say thank you so much for all the beautiful feelings and prayers that we received, that God will grant us righteous offspring, God willing, one day, God willing. I really feel all the love, but God has not answered yet. And besides, guys, I am special anyway!”
