Iman Al-Hosary Trend after sentencing the doctor who caused her disability

The New Cairo Court of Appeal upheld the imprisonment of the doctor of the Egyptian broadcaster, Iman Al-Hosary, on charges of medical error and causing disability, for two years with hard labor, as the broadcaster almost lost her life due to this medical error while performing the surgery.

Judgment against Eman Al-Hosary’s doctor The new ruling comes at a time when the New Cairo Regional Misdemeanor Court ruled that the doctor be imprisoned for two years on charges of hard labor and obligated him to pay bail for his accusation in Case No. 7691 of 2021, Misdemeanor, Fifth Division, New Cairo.

Details of Iman Al-Hosary’s operation In 2021, the Egyptian TV presenter faced a health crisis for several months after undergoing several unsuccessful corrective surgeries following intestinal and colon surgeries. She later decided to go to Germany to complete treatment until her condition stabilized. She described the treatment she received after suffering a medical error during a simple surgery as "comical."

She added that the medical error led to serious complications that led to her hospitalization for nine months, even though she was supposed to spend only one day in the hospital.

Iman Al-Hosary's illness and her travel abroad The doctors said that the deterioration of her health condition was due to poor treatment due to medical errors. She explained that during this period she underwent seven surgeries within 21 days, and her condition worsened with each surgery.

She also said that her health condition has no hope of recovery, and that she has been living for a long time with the help of a life support machine after the vital signs in her body stopped due to multiple surgeries.

Iman said that the doctors told her family that they had exhausted all medical solutions and asked them to pray for her, expecting that she would not survive.

She added that her family had hired someone to prepare her daughter for the news of her death. They told the daughter that her mother had suffered a lot to prepare her psychologically for the news of her departure.

Al-Hosary performed 7 surgeries within a short period, and the doctors advised her, given the complexity of her health condition, to travel abroad to complete her treatment. The operation was performed abroad, and the operation was successful, and her health has improved since then. The doctor who performed the operation said: “If you had not been a fighter, you would have died a long time ago.”
