The Egyptian artist said at the time, while she was a guest on the Sahibat Al-Saada program: “I never imagined that there was such a thing as divorce, and because God knows that I cannot bear it, He brought it to me gradually over 8 months, because if it had happened all at once, I would have been very tired. When the divorce happened, I said it was okay and I learned a lot. If I could go back in time, I would go through the experience again, because I would not learn anything else from it. I love children very much, but the reality is completely the opposite of what I dreamed of and wished to start a family.”

Fahmy wrote at the time on a story in which his family appeared: “May God protect you for me and for each other and keep us away from evil deeds... black magic, sorcerers, and dawn in quarrels, and may He always grant us the blessing of being close to well-bred children.”

The recent crisis that made her trend again is the spread of a video clip of a woman who said that the artist's family rented her house for the purpose of living in it for three years, but the family stayed longer than the agreed period, and caused damage, according to her claim.

The lady said in the video: “I am a woman who put her life’s work into a compound project, and one day I got a call from Mrs. Sherine El-Menzlawy, the mother of the artist Hana El-Zahid, she said that she wanted to rent the place, and my husband replied to her that he refused to rent because he could not guarantee when his trip would end and he would need the house, and we settled the matter. We refused to rent the place, but we got a call from the late artist Talat Zakaria, and he mediated for them on his own responsibility.”

She added: "We agreed and they wanted to rent for 5 years, and Zakaria said that when they returned the house would be in safekeeping and preservation, so we as a family were convinced by his words and told him to rent for 3 years only, and Sherine signed the contract for 3 years and they started paying the rent and sometimes they would delay paying the rent due to work circumstances."

She continued: "When we asked them to return the house to us when we returned to Egypt, they refused, and we told them that this is our house and we have to return the house, and we are renting it for more than what you are paying, and Sherine responded to me and said ugly words, and said that we are not leaving, and ride the highest horse you can."

She pointed out: "Sherine El-Menzlawy's brother talked to us, trying to negotiate with us to give them money so they would leave the house. The cases are ongoing and the judiciary is our side, but we don't know how to reach them. We tried to communicate with them through director Mona El-Abhar, to have them pay what they owe, but we couldn't reach any result with them. Sherine El-Menzlawy insulted my husband and gave the phone to Hana, telling him, 'You killed our father, and you came to kill our mother.' I don't know how she could say that, knowing that they owe money and fines."

She concluded: "I was surprised when I saw a TV interview with Hana El Zahid. I doubted myself and said, 'How can they sleep on a pillow when they have so many faces?' We are determined to assert our rights and there is a report obligating her to repair the damage. I don't know how there are other people behind the camera."
