India Day.. at Dream Island Park in Moscow

The “India Day” festival will be held from August 15 to 18 in the Dream Island Park in the south of Moscow.

Unique events and fun games According to the park's press office, the festival program will include more than 20 unique events, 100 daily shows and entertainment games, and the park will open 120 Indian shops and restaurants.

Special areas for chess, weddings, astrology, a relaxation area (yoga and meditation), a 'Bhakti Land' and a gallery and theatre to showcase Indian art will also be created.

The Weedend Veda area will feature sound therapy sessions, spherical cinema screenings, Indian dance and juggling classes, and psychology and neuroscience sessions.

The relaxation area will also feature demonstrations in sound yoga, the medical principles of sound therapy, aromatherapy, stress management and the relationship between mind, emotions and body.

Different types of yoga will also be offered, from Hatha to Vinyasa and silent yoga, as well as nail art and aromatherapy classes. Bhakti Land will also host a Ratha Yatra procession, mantra readings and lessons on traditional Indian instruments.

The traditional chess tournament dedicated to the memory of Soviet-Russian diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India A. M. Kadakin is scheduled to be held on August 17.

Indian Art Events and Wedding Traditions In addition, Indian artists, including troupes representing Indian dance schools, studios and Indian cultural centres, will perform on the festival’s main stage, with more than 500 classical and semi-classical dance troupes taking part in the dance performances, presenting Indian Bollywood dances for all ages.

Visitors can also learn about the features of Indian cinema, in the Bollywood Cinema Zone, and in the “Wedding in India ” Zone, visitors can watch shows about Indian wedding traditions.
