Majida El Roumi opens "Beirut Holidays" in a night of homeland, pain, and hope.

The Beirut Holidays Festival opened at the Waterfront Theatre amidst an atmosphere brimming with symbolism and hope, with Majida El Roumi taking the stage to combine the nation's pain and resilience, in a night that will forever be etched in the capital's memory.

Wide official and cultural presence First Lady Nemat Aoun led the official attendance, alongside Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and his wife, Prime Minister Najib Mikati and his wife, and a large crowd of Magda's fans, celebrities, artists, media professionals, and public figures.

Lebanese Musical Band, led by Baalbaki The Lebanese orchestra, led by maestro Lubnan Baalbaki, enlivened the evening with a performance that enhanced the evening's radiance, featuring improvisations and rhythms that gave the evening a special artistic character.

Majida El Roumi lights up Beirut's stage with a selection of her masterpieces Magda performed a collection of her most famous songs that have accompanied the audience for many years, including: “Take Me, My Love”, “People Ask About You”, “Your Place in My Heart”, “Color My Days”, “Your Eyes Are Summer Nights”, “Words”, and finally “Beirut, the Lady of the World”, which concluded the concert amidst great interaction and warm applause.

In a touching gesture, Magda performed the song "Betrahlak Mishwar" in tribute to the late Wadih El Safi, turning the moment into an emotional moment that the audience enthusiastically interacted with.

A message of love and hope to Lebanon and Palestine During her moving speech, Magda said: “I welcome the new era that has filled our hearts with hope… We are tired, suffocated, and fed up with wars. This era is our hope for peace of mind and a just peace that we have dreamed of for years.”

She added: "We hope that all the martyrs who have fallen since 1975 will sleep in peace, that our displaced people will return to their homes, and that the villages of the south will be rebuilt."

She continued: "From Palestine to Gaza, to Qana and July 2006... this is not a war, but a war crime. I am not speaking about politics, but rather addressing the conscience of the world."

Bowing before the Lebanese flag After performing “Sett El Donia,” Magda received the Lebanese flag and bowed before it with appreciation, in a touching scene punctuated by bouquets of flowers presented to her by the children in attendance. The concert concluded with a scene that reflected her deep connection to her homeland.

She concluded: “I knelt before God and pledged to my conscience to be a sincere message of love to our country, Lebanon, its people, its army, and its soul.”
