This year, the festival aims to present new works and provide a platform for emerging talents through the “Atlas Workshops” program, which supports 12 films from the submitted projects this year.</p><h3 style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="color:hsl(187, 48%, 51%);">International jury headed by Luca Guadagnino</span></h3><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The famous Italian director Luca Guadagnino heads the jury for this year’s edition, alongside a number of prominent names in world cinema.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The jury includes actors and directors from diverse international backgrounds, including Belgian actress Virginie Efira, Australian actor Jacob Elordi, British-American actor Andrew Garfield, Moroccan actress Nadia Kinda, and Argentine director Santiago Mitre.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> This committee will award the “Golden Star” to the winning film from among 14 films participating in the official competition, which aims to discover new talents from around the world.</p><h3 style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="color:hsl(187, 48%, 51%);">Honoring prominent figures in international and Moroccan cinema</span></h3><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> This year, the Marrakech International Film Festival is dedicating special tributes to prominent figures in the world of cinema, as Canadian director David Cronenberg will be honored, in recognition of his unique contributions and his raising of issues related to technology and the body.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The festival will also honor American actor and director Sean Penn, in recognition of his exceptional talent and distinguished roles with major directors.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> There will be a tribute to the late Moroccan actress Naima Al-Mashriqi, who is considered an immortal Moroccan artistic icon, in appreciation of her rich career and her great standing with the Moroccan public.<br></p>
