Mohamed Alabbar: Dubai Mall is the most visited place in 2024

The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping mall, has set a new visitor record in 2024, welcoming around 111 million visitors, a growth of 5.7%, surpassing the record set in 2023. Last year, The Dubai Mall achieved a remarkable feat when it became the most visited destination in the world, welcoming 105 million visitors, cementing its position as a global destination of choice. In the fourth quarter of 2024, Dubai Mall received about 29 million visitors, while in the third quarter, Dubai Mall witnessed a significant increase in the number of visitors, as the mall received 25 million visitors, reflecting a great turnout from local and international tourism.

During the first nine months of the year, The Dubai Mall recorded an increase of more than 6% in the number of visitors, with the total number of visitors reaching 82 million, compared to the same period in the previous year.

In the first half of 2024, the mall witnessed an 8% increase in visitor numbers, receiving around 57 million visitors, reflecting the continued growth of visitors throughout the seasons. In June 2024, Emaar Malls announced a major investment in The Dubai Mall worth AED 1.5 billion ($408 million), to expand the mall by adding 240 new stores. The expansion is expected to attract more visitors, by providing a variety of luxury options from international and local stores and restaurants.
