Artist Mohamed Attia was keen to send a message to critics of his latest artistic work, regarding his song in which he supported the Palestinian cause and is titled “Watermelon”, which surpassed one million views in just three days, after the criticism he was subjected to by some, through his official page on the famous social networking site “Facebook”.

Mohamed Attia responds to critics of the song "Watermelon" Mohamed Attia said in his post: “Good morning.. The Palestinian reactions, and the people of Gaza in particular, to the song make me happy and completely satisfied, because if I contribute one second to making any of these people happy, then I am very satisfied.”

Mohamed Attia added: “I am very happy that they are the people who defend me the most in the face of criticism.. It is normal, guys, that there are people who find the work bad and people who find me crappy and people who love and other people who mock and people who curse and people who thank.. This is an integral part of our work and I basically have no problem with any of this, even the insults, because I know that this happens and will happen to me and others, and we do not have to betray or taunt those who curse me.. This is an artistic work and it has the right to say what it wants.”

Mohamed Attia continued: “The puzzling mystery for me is that the people behind the cause themselves think the work is great and are happy, and the younger generation (to whom I direct the song) is also happy, and those who criticize are my countrymen from my generation. In general, all I hope for is that people continue to talk about the cause and other people do work, and some of them succeed and some of them do not. The important thing is that we do not forget the cause and we continue to make the people there feel that they are on our minds and that they are not alone, because this really makes a big difference to them.”
