Mona Wassef explains the misunderstanding of her will to be buried with her mother

Syrian star Mona Wassef corrected the public's misunderstanding regarding her will after her death, that she had requested to be buried with her mother.

She explained the idea of burying her “above her mother,” which she had said before and which had caused a misunderstanding, noting that her mother was buried in the cemetery of her Muslim father’s family and not in a Christian cemetery, stressing that what she had said had been misinterpreted.

She indicated that she "wishes that her funeral will be like the funeral of the late director Hatem Ali," saying: "I always wonder, because of my terrible ego, will I have a funeral like this?"

Her dreams do not stop, considering that she "built a palace for herself in her dreams and that she is like an untamed horse without a rider, running and running, stumbling until she gets up on her own."

She pointed out that "this is because of her passion for theatre, which still possesses her to this day," describing it as "nesting in the cells of her body."

She also confirmed that fame did not make her arrogant, saying: “Fame did not make me dizzy,” noting that she did not become frustrated if she failed.

She stressed that the artist must create his own balance so as not to become arrogant. "Every artist who has a sense of beauty will continue on the right path," Wassef said.
