Meanwhile, Lebanese artist Najwa Karam's name has been trending on search engines and social media platforms for the past few hours, following reports that she was receiving a very high fee for her concert at the Carthage Festival in Tunisia, which runs from July 19 to August 21.

Karam is said to be receiving $120,000 for her concert on August 9th at the festival.

This figure has prompted observers to describe it as "astronomical," due to the festival's limited budget, which relies on tradition, a leading position, and history, rather than financial temptations. According to these observers, fees are limited to a few thousand dollars.

Denial from the festival management

Following the uproar surrounding this issue, festival official Hind Al-Maqrani broke her silence and commented on the matter.

In an interview with ET Bil Arabi, Al-Maqrani denied the circulated figures regarding Najwa Karam's salaries, stressing that she respects the confidentiality of contracts and adheres to legal obligations that prevent the disclosure of financial details.

The songstress announced, via a video clip posted on her official social media accounts, her great happiness at her long-awaited return to the Carthage International Festival, after a nine-year absence.

The video carried a deep message of love and loyalty from Najwa Karam to her Tunisian fans and the venerable Carthage Theatre, which she considered a part of her artistic and emotional memory.

In her familiar Lebanese accent, she addressed the stage with words full of longing: "Nothing can separate me from you. My eyes were on you throughout the entire period of absence. Carthage, oh Carthage, oh high flag, oh crown. A crown on my heart and in my heart it will remain Carthage."
