An epic story of desert and freedom

The film tells the story of Matar, a Bedouin boy who works as a camel herder and faces the hardships of life after the death of his brother, Ghanem. Matar finds himself in a fateful confrontation to defend his camel, Hafira, from being killed, which leads him to embark on an adventure across the desert in an effort to preserve his dignity. During his journey, Matar discovers his passion for camel racing, bravely competing in an unforgiving arena. The film is directed by Abu Bakr Shawqi, written by Mufrej Al-Majfal and Omar Shama, and produced by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in cooperation with Film Clinic.

Visual authenticity and the participation of Saudi stars

The film was shot in the Tabuk desert in northwestern Saudi Arabia, with the participation of real Bedouin horsemen from Wadi Rum, giving the work a realistic and authentic feel. "Hagan" features an elite group of Saudi actors, most notably Abdul Mohsen Al-Nemer, Ibrahim Al-Hasawi, Mohammed Al-Zahrani, Omar Al-Atawi, Al-Shaima Tayeb, Azzam Al-Nemer, Toulin Barboud, and Mohammed Hilal, adding artistic weight and distinctive acting performances to the film.
