On its 25th anniversary, Spacetoon collaborates with Al-Daheeh

Spacetoon has announced a new collaboration with content creator Ahmed El-Ghandour, known as "El-Daheeh," to become part of its family through a new program.

Ahmed El-Ghandour is co-presenting a program aimed at children and young people, titled "The Last Da7ee7 on Earth." The broadcast date has yet to be announced.

Spacetoon posted a promotional photo of the new show on its official Instagram account, with the caption: “A brilliant mind has joined the Spacetoon family on its 25th anniversary. A character who changed the concept of explanation. Now she is preparing to embark on a new adventure.”

The ad was enthusiastic, sparking widespread engagement among the public, especially "Al-Daheeh" fans who follow the show's distinctive scientific content. Some young people confirmed they would return to the channel again, eager to see the show.

This announcement comes as part of the channel's 25th anniversary celebrations, reflecting its drive to expand its content and attract a wider audience of young people and adults who grew up with its programming.

Stop and announce a new program

Ahmed El-Ghandour announced last November the end of the fifth season of his show "Al-Daheeh," noting that he was preparing for new projects.

He wrote on Instagram at the time: "The fifth season of the show has ended," and asked "Al Da7ee7" followers to wait for him in the sixth season soon.

Who is "Al-Daheeh"?

Al-Daheeh is Ahmed Ghandour, an Egyptian researcher and YouTube content creator. He is known as Al-Daheeh, after the name of his YouTube show. He is a prominent figure in the field of simplifying science or popular science. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the American University in Cairo and a master's degree in education from the University of Hong Kong.

Al-Ghandour created his “Al-Daheeh” channel on YouTube in 2014 and began posting videos that focused on simplifying science in an easy way with a touch of comedy. Al-Ghandour’s fame increased in Egypt and many Arabic-speaking countries after he signed a contract with Al Jazeera Plus network in 2017. This contract continued until June 9, 2020, when the contract was terminated at the network’s request.

In October 2020, the first episode of his new program, "The Daheeh Museum," aired. It's a cultural comedy show broadcast on Shahid.net. In 2021, he presented "The Daheeh" on the New Media Academy channel, before moving to the Museum of the Future channel. Al-Ghandour was shortlisted for the 2019 IBC World Award for the Most Influential Young People in Media.
