Postpartum depression is the focus of Jennifer Lawrence's film at Cannes

The cast of Die My Love, led by star and producer Jennifer Lawrence, gathered for a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival following its world premiere yesterday at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in competition.

The conference was attended by Jennifer Lawrence, international star Robert Pattinson, and director Lynne Ramsay.

During the conference, Lawrence said that the film posed a significant challenge for her because it depicts a complex psychological condition, postpartum depression. She noted that the most difficult challenge was returning to drama after a long period of comedy roles.

Speaking from her own experience in life and in the film, Lawrence said, "Nothing compares to the postpartum period. It's a very isolating time. The intense anxiety and isolation can lead to severe depression. You feel like an alien."

Having children changes everything.

Lawrence continued: "Having children changes everything, it changes your entire life. It's both tough and amazing. Having children opened the world to me. It changed my life, definitely for the better. It developed my creativity. It made me more emotional, and this has positively impacted my acting abilities. I highly recommend having children if you want to become an actress."

Speaking about her experience shooting the film while pregnant, she said, "I was five months pregnant when I shot the film. My hormones were great. I felt great. It was the only way I could immerse myself in these overwhelming emotions."

Robert Pattinson revealed the behind-the-scenes details of performing a spontaneous dance scene in the film, saying: "The scene was a big challenge, but working with Jennifer and Lynne made the experience fun."

The story of the movie "Die, My Love"

The thriller "Die, My Love" revolves around a woman who becomes a mother for the first time and suffers from postpartum depression and psychosis, especially after the collapse of her marriage.

The film marks Jennifer Lawrence's second foray into film production, her first being in 2022's "Causeway," in which she starred alongside Brian Tyree Henry.
