Queen Rania calls from the Web Summit for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza

In her speech , Queen Rania drew an objective progression for the Palestinian issue, saying, “Certainly, the October 7 attacks opened a new chapter in a long conflict. But the bigger story extended for years longer than most of us have lived: seventy-five years during which the Palestinians have never enjoyed a day of peace.”

Queen Rania defends Gaza “For too long, the Palestinians have been stripped of their humanity and credibility... and turned into a people who can be oppressed without consequences,” she said, adding, “Their reality as a people under occupation has been ignored, their diverse community of doctors, professors and activists has been distorted, and their many attempts at unarmed resistance have been crushed and criminalized - from Historic strikes and civil disobedience campaigns leading up to the Great March of Return in Gaza.

She noted that “the Palestinian people were reduced to enemies in another party’s narrative - they were portrayed to the world as a threat to security or terrorists. But today, for the harshest reasons, the Palestinians are in the eyes of the world... Three-quarters of a century after the beginning of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, millions have seen... "The world knows for the first time what it means to be Palestinian."

She added, "Acts of war are not always clear in the form of an aerial bombardment, an ambush, or a kidnapping. Sometimes, violence comes in the form of a severe siege that extends for more than seventeen years, or decades of daily killings. It comes in the form of checkpoints, a separation wall, or violence." From armed settlers, unjustified arrests, and endless insults under the influence of occupation.”

The Qatar Web Summit is the inaugural event of the World Web Summit in the Middle East, which runs a number of technology events in the world.
