Saif Al-Din Subaie: Physical relations are not betrayal... and I refuse to return to directing clips

Syrian director Saif al-Din Subaie said that he does not have any hostility towards gay people in Lebanese society and that their presence is not considered a major problem.

During his meeting with the journalist Ali Yassin on the “Book of Fame” program, broadcast on the “Al-Jadeed” channel, Saif Al-Din Subaie spoke about homosexuals and their lack of acceptance in Arab societies, unlike European countries, saying: “In our Arab societies, homosexuals are still an unacceptable group, unlike other countries.” European countries that have reconciliation with them.”

Saif Al-Din Subaie added, "In talent programs outside, you find the participant introducing his gay wife or lover. It is normal, and people do not comment or say anything, but here in our Arab societies, the issue still has time to come. We must develop and not return to Laura, otherwise we will be in the dustbin of history."

Saif al-Din Subaie and betrayal During the meeting, Syrian director Saif al-Din Subaie said that he does not consider physical relationships to be betrayal because they are not related to love.

Saif Al-Din Subaie spoke about the concept of betrayal and how it differs from one person to another, saying, “There is no man and there are very few in this category, and if they do exist, there are exceptions because betrayal has a relationship with the concept of femininity and masculinity.”

Saif Al-Din Subaie added, “For me, betrayal is related to love. If two people love each other and someone else is in love with someone else, this is betrayal, but a fleeting physical relationship is not considered a betrayal by the woman and the man. Everyone cheats and is betrayed.”

Saif Al-Din Subaie refuses to return to clips During the meeting, director Seif El-Din Subaie announced his refusal to return to directing clips in the event of cooperation with artists Haifa Wehbe, Nancy Ajram, and Najwa Karam.

Saif Al-Din Al-Subaie said, “No one will let me go back to directing clips from Haifa Wehbe to Nancy Ajram to Najwa Karam, because they have grown up, so we want something new.”

The Syrian director added, "If I return to directing clips, if necessary, I will cooperate with Nancy Ajram."
