Screenwriter Atef Beshay passes away after health problems

Egyptian screenwriter Atef Beshay passed away after suffering a recent health problem, following a brain hemorrhage that required urgent surgical intervention.

Death of Atef Beshay Producer Mohamed El Adl announced the death of screenwriter Atef Beshay on his Facebook page, commenting: “Farewell Atef Beshay, the wonderful screenwriter and the most wonderful friend.”

Who is Atef Beshay? Atef Beshai is a prominent Egyptian screenwriter, with an important career of creativity, and has achieved great success in cinema and television, as his artistic record includes many prominent films and series that achieved great success, including “The Second Meeting, The Trap, and People and People.”

He also presented dozens of films to the cinema, the most famous of which are: “The Owner of the Building, The Trial of Ali Baba, The Minister is Coming, The Deadly Dream, and The Merchant of Happiness.”

It is worth noting that the Film Association Festival had honored the late screenwriter in its fiftieth session during its closing ceremony, along with a number of artists who have influenced cinema over the years. This was in addition to a number of filmmakers in different cinematic branches in appreciation of their artistic careers, namely: the pioneer of film distribution in Egypt, Antoine Zand, the music composer Rageh Daoud, Elham Shaheen, the artist Ahmed Bedier, the writer Samir Gharib, and the film critic Ahmed Shawky.
