Suzan Najm Al-Din: I felt like I was going to die... and the director of “The Assassins” responded

Syrian artist Suzan Najm Al-Din expressed her happiness with the success achieved by the series “The Assassins”, after she participated in it with the Egyptian artist Karim Abdel Aziz, and it was shown in Ramadan 2024.

“Susan” said that work represented a great challenge for her, and that she was responsible for presenting a huge work that differed from her previous roles, in addition to her presence alongside a group of the best Egyptian stars.

Suzan Najm Al-Din continued that she succeeded in the challenge thanks to director Peter Mimi, and described him as a true leader.

She added: "I was not able to make a difference except under the supervision of Dr. Peter Mimi, who followed up on all the details. He was a true leader and responsible for the work, and whenever I strayed from Alinar, he brought me back. Cooperating with him gives confidence."

“Susan” continued that she had a lot of fun while filming “The Assassins,” and that she did not find it difficult, but she was very afraid of the scene of her being killed, as it was very violent and required precision and focus so that she would not be injured.

The Syrian artist added that she felt a lot of confusion during her performance, especially during rehearsals. She was keen to present him by showing the strength of the character and resisting her fear of real death, commenting: “I felt that I was going to die seriously and I was afraid of being injured.”

She revealed that she injured her hand while filming the work, and underwent surgery that lasted 3 hours, and despite that, she insisted on continuing filming the scenes.

In turn, director Peter Mimi praised Suzan Najm al-Din’s professionalism and dedication to work, explaining that she was injured during filming and continued to perform her full work despite her severe pain. She also underwent surgery on the second day and despite that, she completed filming directly, commenting: “I have never seen a person with such sincerity, by God.” ".

In the series, Nicolas Moawad plays the role of the poet and scholar Omar Khayyam, and one of Al-Sabah’s friends.
