Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa began field visits to the Syrian provinces, as he headed today, Sunday, to the provinces of Latakia and Tartous after visiting the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo.

In his first visit to the Syrian coast since his inauguration as president of the transitional phase, Sharaa arrived in Latakia Governorate amidst a massive public reception, where he will meet with local dignitaries and officials representing various sects, to learn about the challenges and problems they face.

In Aleppo, Al-Sharaa met with local community figures in the presence of Aleppo Governor Azzam Gharib, and discussed with them the city’s conditions and the challenges facing its residents.

Sharia meetings in Aleppo During his visit to the city of Aleppo, Al-Sharaa met with a number of people from Aleppo and its countryside, women and men, who included all segments of society, including Muslim and Christian clerics, military personnel, Kurds and Arabs, tribes and industrialists, as well as merchants, engineers and doctors.

During the visit, Al-Sharaa said, “The road to liberating Syria began from the city of Aleppo, and the city of Aleppo has its own economic and commercial specificity. Countries are built on a vision, and there is much that needs rehabilitation. We must have internal unity.”

While Al-Sharaa considered that Syria has the elements for rapid progress, and Aleppo is considered an important tributary to the Syrian industry, indicating that the economy will proceed at an increasing pace with a focus on developing agriculture and supporting local industries, according to what was reported by the media.

Yesterday evening, Saturday, Al-Sharaa visited the city of Afrin, north of Aleppo, where he met with dignitaries and notables of the region and its countryside, according to what was published by the Syrian presidency.
