Lamia Rateb, the daughter of the late artist Ahmed Rateb, expressed her sadness and resentment towards the festivals in Egypt that have not honored him in any of their sessions after 8 years of her father’s death. The daughter of the late artist shared a post on her Facebook account in which she wrote: “8 years and there is no festival in Egypt that honors the name of Ahmed Rateb, but you know, Dad, I honor you every day by praying for you, and your audience honors you all the time by remembering you and missing you.”

The first immediate response was from the artist Mohamed Emam, son of the leader Adel Emam, who re-shared Lamia's post, commenting: "Your father does not need to be honored. Professor Ahmed Rateb is one of the strongest actors in the history of art, and the audience is the one who honors him every day with his great roles." He concluded: "May God have mercy on him. He was a rare actor."

Writer Ahmed Al-Adhb had an opinion on the subject. The writer Ahmed Salah Al-Adhb commented on the post, saying: “Exactly two days ago, we were sitting in the actor nomination sessions for the series “The King”, without any reason or justification. We started nominating the late artist Ahmed Rateb and we found him suitable for completely different and contradictory roles. We all agreed that if God had mercy on him, he would have played any of these roles with the utmost beauty and professionalism. May God have mercy on him and be kind to him.”

Death of Ahmed Rateb The late artist Ahmed Rateb passed away in 2016 after suffering a severe heart attack. He left behind an artistic legacy and a huge archive, as he participated with the star Adel Emam alone in about 90 films and plays, the most famous of which is “The Leader.”
