The passing of the great composer Mohamed Rahim continues to cast its shadow over the artistic community and the public, as his widow, Anoussa Kota, and his brother, Dr. Taher Rahim, revealed touching details about his death, and refuted the rumors that spread on social media.

Anoussa Kota: “His death was natural and the rumors are painful” In a phone call with the “Hadrat Al-Mowaten” program, Anoussa Kota explained that the reports circulating about her husband’s death were false, noting that his death was natural and that his body did not suffer any injuries as some claimed. She added sadly: “I was greatly shocked by the delay in burying his body, and if there had been any criminal suspicion, I would not have hesitated to talk about it.”

She also expressed her displeasure at the circulation of their private life secrets on social media, stressing that her husband's illness was a private family matter, and it was better to respect his privacy. Regarding his artistic legacy, she pointed out that he presented more than 3,000 melodies during his career, and kept many unpublished melodies in his private studio, stressing her intention to publish these melodies to immortalize his memory.

His brother: “Mohamed Rahim died of depression due to artistic neglect.” Dr. Taher Rahim, the brother of the deceased, shed light on the psychological aspect that Mohamed Rahim suffered as a result of the neglect he was subjected to in his country, despite his artistic status and achievements worldwide. He confirmed that his brother felt oppressed, which caused him to suffer a stroke three months before his death. He added: “Despite receiving international awards, Mohamed Rahim was not honored in his country in the manner he deserved, and this was the main reason behind his thinking about retiring from composing and moving away from Egypt.”

Family Disagreements: The Reality of the Situation During a Funeral Regarding the rumors of family disputes, Tahar Rahim explained that there were no problems with his brother’s widow, and that the argument that occurred during his burial ceremony was the result of the shock and surprise that affected all family members.
