The series "Balto"... a light comedy that sheds light on the problems of Egyptian doctors

The "Balto" series, shown on the "Watch It" platform, was a huge success. Although only 3 episodes were shown, it received wide positive reactions on social media platforms.

The story of the series discusses the crises and problems of doctors in a light and elegant comic style, where he talks about "Atef", a doctor in an internship year who is forced to go to a health unit in the countryside, but he is shocked by what he sees there and suddenly finds himself becoming the director of the health unit and responsible for everything, and then he spoke Several comic and social situations derived from the Egyptian reality, and although his hero is a young actor and is playing the tournament for the first time, the audience loved him very much.

Essam Omar, the young artist who was feeling his way in acting, quickly climbed the ladder, with his lightness and spontaneity, which relied on the comedy of the situation, not the eloquence.

The young artist who turned social media graduated from the Theater Department at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, while he started his acting career since 2010, and he has several theatrical, cinematic and dramatic works, and among the “oppressed” works of “Omar” is his short film “Evening Shift”, in which he excelled. By embodying the life story of a large group of young people who work in the "Call Center" profession.

Among his most prominent works is his participation in the series “The Choice”, the second and third parts, as “Ali Younes”, while his most recent work was “Munawara bi Ahlha” starring Ghada Adel, Laila Elwi and “The Bridge” starring Amr Saad and Nelly Karim.

The candidacy of “Essam” for the series “Balto” came through the director of the work, Omar Al-Mohandes, the grandson of Fouad Al-Mohandes, about whom “Essam” said that he was the reason for his conviction in the role and that he had a strong friendship with him, just as “Al-Mohandes” was the reason for his candidacy for the role in the first place.

The hero derived the character of the doctor from the author of the series, Dr. Ahmed Atef, since the story of the series is basically life situations that orthopedist Ahmed Atef went through, and he decided to write them down in the book “Balto, T-shirt and Tab”, and then he turned into the series “Al-Balto”.

Although "Issam" is the hero, he stressed, "I hate the word hero and it suffocates me... I consider myself a key role."
