Two passengers survive, 181 die after South Korean plane crashes

South Korea was gripped by grief after the plane crash, which some described as the worst accident in South Korea's history. A video clip broadcast by local media revealed that the plane skidded on the runway without landing gear, then crashed into a wall, turning into flames and debris with all its passengers.

Many South Korean officials are investigating the causes of this accident, especially after 179 passengers were killed out of 181 who were on board.

South Korea's Ministry of Transport confirmed that the flight data recorder was found two and a half hours after the accident, as well as the cockpit voice recorder.

The control towers also issued a warning of flocks of birds flying, and a few minutes later the pilots requested assistance, and there was an emergency with a distress call, but experts confirmed that the plane colliding with a bird could not have caused a malfunction in the operation of the landing gear.

Two crew members, a man and a woman, survived and were rescued from the tail of the burning plane. They are currently receiving treatment in the hospital, with moderate to severe injuries, as the tail of the plane retained some of its shape, while the rest of the plane was completely destroyed.
