Upset.. Bella Hadid responds for the first time to Adidas deleting her photos

American model Bella Hadid has broken her silence for the first time regarding the controversy caused by her campaign with Adidas, explaining that she would "never knowingly participate in any art or work associated with a terrible tragedy."

Bella addressed the backlash that followed Adidas' campaign for the revamped line of SL72 shoes, which were first designed for competitors at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Up to 11 Israeli athletes and a German police officer were killed by eight members of the Palestinian Black September group at this year's Olympics.

I would never do any business connected to such a horrible tragedy. Bella Hadid wrote via the "Story" feature on her official Instagram account: "I will never deal with any art or work related to a horrific tragedy of any kind."

Bella added that she was not aware of the connection to the tragedy before launching the campaign, saying: “Before launching the campaign, I had no knowledge of the historical connection to the terrible events of 1972.”

The American model expressed her dissatisfaction with what happened: "Shocked, upset, and disappointed. If I had known, I would never have participated. My team should have known, Adidas should have known, and I should have done more research to know, understand, and speak up."

She continued that she will always stand up against what she believes is wrong, saying: "As I have always done, and I will always speak up for what I believe is wrong, and I do not believe in hate in any form."

In response to the backlash the company and the model received from the Israeli government and Zionist organizations in the United States, the company removed the campaign images and apologized in a statement, saying: “For any distress or distress caused by the campaign and its historical association with a tragic event.”
