King Charles III and Queen Camilla made a special field visit to Muslim communities in London, in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.

During their visit, the couple stopped at Darjeeling Express, founded by celebrity chef Asma Khan, and took part in symbolic Ramadan activities, helping to pack dates to send to local hospitals.

King Charles was impressed with his speed in completing the task, with Chef Asma Khan commenting in amazement: “I didn’t realise the King would be so fast!”, which made Queen Camilla laugh.

After the dates were packed, the royal couple moved to the kitchen, where they joined head chef Asha Pradhan to help pack the biryani boxes, which were donated to Doorstep, an organisation that supports needy families in finding permanent housing.
