The conference also included a response from the head of the union, Mazen Al-Nattour, to the statements of director Al-Laith Hajjo, in which he criticized the work of the union and what the head of the union had done recently. The union had issued a decision to remove the membership of four members from the Central Union Council. The artists are: Amal Huwaija, Mays Harb, Nour Mahna, and Mohammed Al-Rashi. The Syndicate also terminated the appointment of Youssef Abdo as a member of the Central Council, due to his deviation from the Syndicate’s goals, according to the decision. The union confirmed that the reason for the two decisions was the issuance of actions that were inconsistent with the values and principles of union work. The Syndicate appointed six members to its Central Council: Hussein Al-Mutlaq as Secretary, in addition to Cosette Bakir, Jihad Azar, Rawaa Yassin, Zuhair Qanou, and Ali Al-Qasim. On the other hand, on May 4, the head of the Syrian Artists Syndicate, Mazen Al-Nattour, rescinded the decision issued by the Syndicate Council to withdraw confidence from him as head of the Syndicate, via a statement issued by the Syndicate's Facebook page.
