Egyptian actress Wafaa Amer said she was able to turn her social media fame into a tool to support humanitarian causes, raising EGP 57 million in donations through live broadcasts on TikTok.

During her interview on the "Last Word" program, hosted by Ahmed Salem, she added that her career in this field began about three years ago when she was affected by the case of a sick child named "Ruqayya" who needed support and assistance.

Wafaa Amer explained that a journalist's suggestion was a turning point, as he advised her to use social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram to collect donations in an organized manner and under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

Wafaa Amer noted that she hopes to serve as a role model for others, including artists and other influencers, to channel their fame toward good and contribute to serving the community, emphasizing that the feeling of giving and helping others is priceless.
