Who is Marwa El-Shazly, the rarely seen sister of Mona El-Shazly?

Visual artist Marwa El-Shazly, sister of journalist Mona El-Shazly, drew attention to her, after a rare appearance in her art exhibition that was held yesterday, under the title “Stable Worlds,” to display her paintings.

While the show continues until June 6, 2024 at the Misr Gallery in Zamalek.

2. I graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Photography, from Helwan University in 2006, then obtained a master’s degree in 2011, and also obtained a doctorate in the philosophy of arts in 2015.

3. She worked as a teacher of drawing and photography at Al-Ahram Canadian University and New Giza University. She also currently works as a teacher in the Department of Photography at the Faculty of Fine Arts.

4. She participated in many exhibitions and cultural events. She also received many grants and artistic residencies, including an academic exchange grant from the University of Warsaw. She was also crowned with a number of awards, including the Youth Salon Prize for Photography. She participated in exhibitions in many countries, including Egypt, Jordan, France, Italy, Hungary, Poland, and Canada.

5. Her works have been acquired by several museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in Minya, and public institutions, including the Library of Alexandria, as well as in private collections.
